ENGINUITY 2013/PRESENTATION EVENING
The ENGINUITY 2013 Champions, the
"Pbers" from the Manchester (UK) office of Parsons Brinckerhoff,
were presented with their awards at the annual Parsons Brinkerhoff awards evening on June 6th in the
magnificent surroundings of Drapers Hall.
Situated in the heart of London, Drapers' Hall has been the home of the Drapers' Company since 1543.
Once belonging to Thomas Cromwell, the building was purchased from King Henry VIII for the princely
sum of £1,200. Rebuilt after the Great Fire of 1666 and again in 1772, the interior is now trimmed in
classic Victorian style, and has been used in many films, including the King's Speech and Golden Eye,
of James Bond fame. |

The guest speaker for the evening was Rageh Omaar.
An award winning
journalist and writer, Rageh came to global prominance through his reporting on the Iraq War. He won
a BAFTA for his coverage of the conflict in Afghanistan, as the only western journalist to report from
inside the Taliban-held Kabul. In his former roles with the BBC and Al Jazeerah, and with ITV since early
2013, he produces documentaries and in-depth coverage of news stories from around the world.
With his particular background and experiences, Rageh was able to talk about collaboration and team work, the
key themes for the evening. |

The master of ceremonies for the evening was Rachel Skinner, the UK Marketing & Communications Director for Parsons Brinckerhoff.
Other speakers during the evening included Steve Reffitt, the Operations Director for Parsons Brinckerhoff, who provided
the opening address before dinner, andAndrew McNaughton the Chief Executive of Balfour Beatty. |

3 members of the winning team,Chris Gregory, Matthew Lupton and
Michail Gordijenko (left to right in the photo) were presented with their specially commissioned
crystal awards by guest speaker Rageh Omaar.
Unfortunately the fourth team member Christoper Chung could not be present.
After a number of near misses, the 'Pbers' became the first Parsons Brinckerhoff team to win the ENGINUITY Competition. |
