The International College of Business and Technology in Sri Lanka delivered an Enginuity Competition on behalf of the School of the Built Environment at Birmingham City University as part of the module 'Business Management' for students on the MSc Construction Project Management (Cohort 1).

The students were split into 8 teams, and competed over 6 rounds, or one and a half simulated years, between September and November 2019.

PERIOD 10:  "Timing proves decisive as "TAZNO" emerge victorious"

They say that timing is everything, and in an incredibly tense finish, and despite a 1% decline, so it proved for "TAZNO" who became the Birmingham City University / ICBT Sri Lanka Enginuity 2019 Competition (Cohort 1) Champions with 1,535 pts. Unfortunately for "SST" they were outbid on a number of key projects, and this ultimately cost them, and they had to settle for second place, although they can feel proud of leading for 4 of the 6 rounds in their titanic battle with the ultimate winners. "Inbuilt" continued their impressive climb up the table, finishing 3rd, but it was a final quarter to forget for previous high flyers "Columbo Developments" as they plumetted 4 places after a 12% deterioration.

In the final analysis every team finished with a stronger, more sustainable company than when they took over back in period 5, a testament to the skill and application shown by the management teams in what was a roller coaster of a journey through one and a quarter simulated years.
