PERIOD 12:  "Some late surprises as the 2025 finalists are confirmed!"

There is an old saying that 'timing is everything', and so it proved in the final Preliminary Round as 2 teams moved into the top 12 to the dismay of those they replaced in a tense conclusion to the first stage of this year's Competition. The teams rejoicing at their late surge were "Build Baby Build" (Cundall, UK), who made a 14-place gain from 25th to 11th, and justified the faith shown in them by the ENGINUITY CRYSTAL BALL over the 8 Preliminary Rounds, and "The Octopodes" (Jacobs, Ireland), who climbed 12 places to 3rd, much to the joy of the mysterious 'man behind the scenes' who supports them, and is only known by the initials PK. However, amongst the joy there was bound to be anguish, and spare a thought for the teams that just missed out, and in particular e "Competitive Salary" (Mott Macdonald, Bulgaria), who had occupied the top 12 since period 7, but a 10% decline sadly put paid to their hopes of becoming the inaugural Mott Macdonald Champions. Just like the real world it simulates, the Enginuity world can be a cruel and unforgiving place, but there is always next year.

There are 6 different sponsors represented in the final; AtkinsRealis, Cundall, Hatch, Jacobs, Parsons and Stantec, with teams from around the world, with a sprinkling of first time finalists and those with past experience. Going into the final in pole position, and still in top spot are last year's runners up "The Mighty Turtles" (Parsons, United States) with 2,573 pts, and they have significant lead of 101 points from their Nemesis "CEPTians" (AtkinsRealis, India), who remain second. Although the top two have clear daylight between themselves and the other finalists going into the 6 rounds of the final, it can all change very quickly, and KPI points can quickly be eroded away as the increased pressure of the final puts endurance, team dynamics and company strategies to the ultimate test before the Enginuity 2025 Champions are crowned.

The 12 teams that have qualified for the final, and the order in which they will start the final are :-

1. 2,573 pts "The Might Turtles" (Parsons, United States)
2. 2,472 pts "CEPTians" (AtkinsRealis, India)
3. 2,344 pts "The Octopodes" (Jacobs, Ireland)
4. 2,289 pts "Hatchico" (Hatch, Canada)
5. 2,286 pts "Shubh Labh" (Jacobs, India)
6. 2,275 pts "Stantogether" (Stantec, Australia)
7. 2,260 pts "ABC - Always Be Constructing" (Jacobs, India)
8. 2,249 pts "Mile-High Heat" (Stantec, United States)
9. 2,239 pts "Enginuity State of Mind" (Jacobs, United States)
10. 2,232 pts "The Infra Tribe" (Stantec, India)
11. 2,231 pts "Build Baby Build" (Cundall, UK)
12. 2,230 pts "Astra Engineering" (Jacobs, UK)

And what of the teams that did not make the final ? Almost every team that began the journey back in period 5 completed the early years with stronger, more sustainable companies than they started, a testimony to the skill and application shown throughout by the management teams.

There have been so many internal sponsor competitions within the main event that have caught the imagination over the last 8 weeks, and it is only fitting that we pay homage to the victors in their own mini battles. So here is the ENGINUITY 2025 Sponsor Podium at the end of the Preliminary Rounds, for sponsors entering 3 or more teams:-

AECOM "Synergy" (UK)
CAROLLO ENGINEERS "Scope Creep Squad" (United States)
HATCH "Hatchico" (Canada)
JACOBS "The Octopodes" (Ireland)
MWH TREATMENT "Apex" (UK)
PELL FRISCHMANN - RSBG UK "Frisch Force One" (UK)
STANTEC "Stantogether" (Australia)
WSP "Palmy Balmy" (New Zealand)

In the end there can only be one Champion ... tune in from June 18 to July 2 to find out who!
